It is interesting how there is such a cultural difference in canvassing between the UK and the USA. You guys are so much more proactive.... you have a real "go get 'em" mentality whereas here in the UK we are pretty low key and maybe stand offish, I suppose. It would almost be considered "bad form" to encourage people to vote for your horse here or even just to come and vote in case people felt obliged to vote for your entry if you had invited them. I'm not being critical in any way, I just find it fascinating how we are so similar and yet so different culture wise. I have seen it of course on the news with your political system and all the canvassing that goes on there with showbiz personalities endorsing one candidate or another etc but it is surprising to me for some reason that it translates right down to grass roots level. You guys probably don't even realise what I'm talking about because it is so normal to you. It is just really interesting.
