Got a horse? Show it off here :-)

Registered Name: not registered
Barn Name: Snow or Snow White
Breed: miniature horse
Age: 8 - 12 years, but not really sure
Gender: mare
Color: she is a pinto that grayed out
Any illness: she has a fungal infection on her neck that we are currently treating.
Background: Snow is a rescue. She was found with a couple other minis and one miniature baby that we think was Snow’s. When we got her she was scared of wheelbarrows, getting hosed off, fly spray, saddle pads, stuff like that. She now is a lot better about most of those things.
Other: Snow loves treats. And I am hoping to do more trick training with her. View attachment 1755042

I absolutely love your little herd. So well loved and such a great set up. Did you make the flower headdress? I made one for Halloween for a big black lab were sitting. Pretty cute :)

View attachment 1755061 This was my heart horse who I lost to heart trouble (he went down to a heart murmur and arrhythmia and vet and I couldn’t get him up the day before thanksgiving at age 20)
He was the pony horse and lesson horse and amazing horse of my dreams
I think the horse I was pointing that day (his name was jack o lantern) placed 3rd... I trained him
What a life! Beautiful horses, beautiful set up. What do you do now since you retired from training race horses? Knitting does not seem an option lol.

Thank you! I love them! I didn't make the flower headdress, I wish I knew how to! lol
But the ponies were good sports about letting me dress them up for Easter! :D

I’m only 36 but the industry started to go the wrong way... I just couldn’t support it anymore and work 24/7 and go grey early for it... that’s not to say I don’t miss it... but then I’ll speak to friends and I’m reminded lol

And you’re right knitting is not an option! I work full time and will be taking classes this fall.
I enjoy my farm that I bought a year ago pretty much and have a few horses to sell this year. I didn’t breed anyone this year but will breed next year. My favorite mare is going to a warm blood stallion. Her yearling was bred to race and is going to a sale this fall.

My dad keeps saying he fully supports the chicken habit because it’s a heck of a lot cheaper than my horse habit

Yes, I am sure it is a young persons game too. Not that 37 is old but maybe 37 is supposed to be wiser than 27. You know what I am saying... right? Time to enjoy breeding. Your place looks gorgeous and with a lot of acres. Must be wonderful most of the time- work, but wonderful. Glad you took up chickens instead of knitting. I wasn't sure if my chickens were cheaper than our horses but maybe I was surprised at the start up costs and time demand for chickens. I apparently temporarily forgot about the pasture lease etc. etc.. for our horses.
Had a nice ride this morning. Hombre is worth every penny...

So cute! I love miniature horses! Those flower crowns are adorable! It’s great that you were able to help her feel safer around various objects. Hope your trick training goes well!
