House Goose Thread

It's been forever since I jumped on this thread!

Trina is doing great! She's a blast to have around. We are looking for a friend for her. She's been spending half or more of the day outside enjoying the sunshine and all the rain we have ben having here and she seems a little lonely.

Relaxing before bedtime

Out having lunch at Beyond Bread

Taking a bath - the bubbles were an accident, sure were fun for a one time photo op though!

Watching TV

Her favorite care spot. She likes to stick her head out the window, it's pretty cute!
she even honks at people at stoplights, fun to watch their reactions.

New Diaper! Herold ones were leaking so I tweaked the design a little bit

Getting a check up at the vet

Nifty leash system DH came up with to keep her out of my mom's garden along the wall. She can frolic in the grass without eating the vegetable leaves.
It's a retractable dog leash with an elastic "goose" leash on the end attached to the awning which keeps the leash from getting caught in her wings or around her feet

Meeting my best friend's dog

Oh my gosh she is so cute. She looks kind of like my Little Nelson. Who is not that little anymore lol

I'm looking for a friend for her as well. I'm hoping to get another gosling in the spring so I can raise them together. I just hope that Nelson won't be mean to a baby. She was mean to the ducks I got her, but I think its because they were already grown and it was a male and female pair. We had to get rid of them.

I would love to wait until spring and get a gosling for Trina too! But DH is worried about waiting that long. I think she will be fine but he adores her and doesn't want her to be lonely.
Miss Nelson is beautiful!

Thank you. I think so too. I don't really want to wait that long either, and if she didn't hang out with our kittens all the time I definitely wouldn't. She's taken up 'leader of the kitties' role lol

I would love to see a video of you picking up the red bowl to feed her! I show my goose videos on youtube about geese. She REALLY likes both the baby geese and the traffic jam of geese - we have a smart TV, so we can watch youtube on it. She lies down in front of the tv just like my kids used to. Ducks seem nothing like geese. I tried to go to ducks when we moved into town, but if you're hooked on geese, you're hooked.

I've got a 7 month old American buff female. I've had her since she was two days old. She goes with me most places but not many stores around here allow a diapered goose. She is absolutely full of personality and screams for attention. For some reason she hates and hisses at all neon colors. She sleeps in a blue ferret pen next to my bed when she doesn't sleep in my bed. She loves sitting in your lap and chewing on your hair. She loves untiring my dads shoes . She does very well on car rides and stays in her seat like a good girl Now my friend wants a house goose but she can't find a site that sells single female gosslings anyone know of one?

Right this minute is not breeding season for geese so no one is selling geese =) but once spring comes, it will probably be much easier to find a single gosling. I was looking for a mate for Trina and couldn't find a gosling for her. Ended up adopting someone else's unwanted house gander from a goose rescue.

She is very cute!! Looks a lot like my Trina =)

Thinking about getting a house goose and was wondering what people thought about Sebastopol geese and if there are any other great breeds and what are there weights and colours etc ??

Weights and colors can just be found on hatchery sites. They often have comparison charts.
As far as getting a sebbie, everyone says they are wonderful! Very sweet and mellow
