How dark are blue marans eggs?

I ordered a bigger incubator:oops: or now hold twice as many eggs! I’ll try to put my old one on eBay when it arrives, if it works. :)
Too funny.
My problem is when I get a new one I keep the old one too. Decided this last year I'd just run the styrofoam hovabators. Finally scrapping any little giant ones.
I was running 6 full time until about a month ago.
I keep threating to build a walk in one. Next year may just be the year.

I hated my hovabator 1602N. I’m not sure why but it never held temperature. It go to 100*F and wouldn’t turn on until 90*F to heat back up. My uncle recently acquired a trio of turkeys and about 10 guineas.... let’s just put the incubators to good work this year

It only hold 24, twice as many as the one I have. If I kept both I could incubate 36 eggs at a time, and if my old hovabator would be have I could——-

I gotta stop:
I have an extra coop... so I asked my neighbor for 6 eggs to hatch....
You go girl! :lau

That's just cheating!!! I hope it works OK - I was looking at those (and the smaller version) in the spring but decided against it as a few people had trouble with them but at that price worth a try!!

Now that would be cool :lau:lau

Those early colours don't look like Marans at all to me. I think they have to be a 4 or above on the scale or something to even be OK. The ones I set were pretty dark. I'd read that BCMs laid darker than the blues (which I prefer looks wise) but the breeder (here in France!) said that his were all the same and more differing between individuals. I just chose the darkest eggs I could find from what he had from me to choose from (BCM, blue and splash potential). I think I've got 1 BCM cockeral (although no crowing yet!) and 1 Blue (hoping girl) who are coming up on 17 weeks so hopefully won't be too long waiting for an egg to see what colour I'll get! Also have a baby 6 weeks old - I think may be another cockeral tbh. I've also just had a bit of a brain wave I have some that are 20 weeks this coming week and I thought I had 3 orpingtons and a Faverolles but I've just realised one of the grey ones really doesn't look like the other 2 and I'm now wondering if she is a Marans as well as she isn't fluffy like the others (I thought none of the Marans in that batch worked!). Off to have a look!!!
