How do you call your chickens

I only have to say come chicks loudly and they come on the fly.

They follow me like a dog. Very nice chickens but they bite me. Not sure what that is about. Can't pet them they get very defensive. I got lucky with my red stars.

When I used to live on the farm, I used to holler from my backdoor HEEEERRRRRRREEEE chicky chicky CHICKY! They flew out of that cow barn so fast, all 50 of them would just either fly, flapped, run or hopped all the way up to the tractor shed where they would stop (because our Collies would herd them back on the "line"). From the backdoor to the cow barn, it was a good " 15 hay wagon with tractor" in length. (I will have to ask my Dad for sure).

I loved seeing them coming flying out of the barn in the morning.

Now I live in the city, I would approach to the coop, even they cackle when they do see me coming out of the backdoor, I would say hello girls! or Good morning girls!
When I give them scratch, I would say come on girls, get your treats!
Nighttime, "good night, girls!"

Yes of course I call if the cannot see me. How else would they know I was there. I live on 100 acres of land.

And lately they stray farther than I would like.
