How early have your birds started laying?

Got my first egg today from one of my New Hampshire reds that I got March 22 , 2013! 17 weeks old , nice! 3 eggs in the box , one also from the white leghorn and a 1 1/2 year old white rock.

The Golden Comets started today, 20 weeks old.

3 more eggs today , 1 large , 2 small! They are all golden eggs now!

We got our first egg on 7/14 from our Jersey Giant and she was 19.5 weeks old. Two more started laying (not sure which) and they were about 20 weeks. Six more hens to go!

Got 6 to go and this is the interesting part , trying to figure out who! Only the egg layers get the treats!

I have 2 RIR that are about 5 months old and what arre some of the signs that they will start to lay? I can't wait until they start it will be so fun.

What I noticed was "squatting" and very red combs and wattles. The other thing I noticed was being very friendly and wanting to sit on my lap.

Also they really start to be more vocal , like I need to lay a egg but I don't know how ! ha

Todays egg from the 17 week old had a soft shell but the inside was good , she cracked it when nesting. Think I will add more straw to the box.
