    I don't think I'll have to stay up late.

    I'm predicting Obama will win, with a chance of Romney carrying the popular vote.

    I'll probably follow it until midnight or so. The major battleground states like Florida and Ohio are all in EST so there's a good chance they will have the winner declared by midnight here on the west coast. It looks as though the president is going to win again. We will see.

    Was 2000 a typical election? No, it was uncommon and unlikely to repeat itself.
