How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Been getting 1 per hen everyday. I added a light to their enclosure and set it to come on at dusk and stay on for 2 hours. They also have a doghouse heater in the coop.

I got 6 eggs today. I have 15 hens and 1 is too young to lay (3 months) and 3 of them are too old to lay. The rest are taking a winter break.

Apparently I am doing SOMETHING right because I got 12 of 12 again!!!!!

1/4 for the third straight day... two are too old to be laying in the winter and the other one is too young.

All in all im happy... they get to free range all day which I didn't think I'd do. Cleaning go is pretty easy, I just sweep the manure into the yard. Dual purpose hens!

Plus they've turned over my garden.. .

I found the ducks stash!! and I figured out that its my Muscovy hens laying!! They are climbing my hay stack and laying in two different cracks between the bales! found 11 eggs in two different nest! I am going to let them go and see if we get ducklings what do you think, should I or will the go brody this time of year? I still dont know whats going on with my chickens I was on a roll for a few weeks with 6/6 now I am getting 5/6 for the last four days?!?!
