It's okay right now I have three broody silkies but when not broody my silkies lay better than my large fowl lol

Not as much now that the weather is picking up but my silkies started before the rest of my layers lol

Hahaa!! I know exactly what you mean, my silkies lay great, when they lay. Theywere laying so well over the winter, but right now they're the reason I don't get 8/8. And my Mottled Cochin just started laying at 11 months old!

mystery of missing eggs solved!big splash hen eats the entire thing! caught her in the act. this bunch refuse to use a box or nest and I am going nuts trying to train them and now this.

After getting 7 yesterday I got 10 eggs today! AND they (new eggs) were all either green, blue, or dark brown! Didn't expect that from barred rock mutts!

Just wormed my chickens on Saturday since our egg counts were the lowest ever!

26/today!!!
YAY! Think I found the problem!
(Don't worry--I'm throwing out the eggs for 2 weeks after deworming)

e have you tried Molly's herbals it's a natural wormer that all animals can use and you don't need to toss the eggs. I've used it for the last 4 years for my chickens goats sheep dogs and cats.. just a suggestion.. I hate hearing people have to waste milk or eggs
