How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I have always used fake eggs in the nest have not had a egg for a month everyone has been molting some combs have been getting red again so took the fake out of three dotted three from the fridge but put real eggs out there crossing my fingers:he

I discovered the reason for my pullets’ low production over the last few days. I put a massive amount of leaves into their run, and they started another nest! Three eggs in the leaf-nest, one in the nest box today. I piled big pieces of bark, pine cones, wood chips , and a few rocks in the new nesting spot. And I “created” an additional nest in the nest box, complete with 2 of today’s eggs!

Wish me luck.

9 again today. Different mix of layers though.

Flipping AC has a leak in the the condenser- which we replaced 2 years ago - so it’s again not working. It’s always great to spend almost $4k to replace the other parts of the system to no avail. And with the holiday tomorrow it won’t be until Wednesday to get it fixed. Grr. Thank goodness for the window unit we bought earlier this year!

With us it is the refrigerator. 6 year old Maytag (made by Whirlpool as are Amanas and I don't know home many other brands, probably Sears is included), looks like the compressor is gone. Decided to have them try to fix it. If that is it, it will be $400 less than buying the exact same refer again. I HATE to throw all the rest of the machine in the dump, what a waste. Last refrigerator was purchased in 1989, only the door seals were shot. That was back in the "they don't make them like they used to" days. And back then we said the same thing. I still have a clothes dryer from 1981 that works.

ZERO eggs again today.
