How many of you have your chicks in your house?

Just moved the last of our's for this year out to the coop this morning. We have had chicks in the house since early Feb. Bedding down at night in a large Rubbermaid tub, and spending the day's.........Wait for it.................................................... in our spa tub in our master bath.

My two chicks are in the house right now. How else can you play with them? They'll go out when they get their adult feathers in.

I have a friend with an African Goose--all 25# stay inside and s/he wears a diaper!

Baby chicks without mother hens must be kept in the house! Of course! Why not? Where's the fun in putting them outside?

I always keep mine in the house right in the living room. One reason being, my dogs, they see them as babies and I get them out everyday so the dogs know them and they get used to the dogs. I did the New Years Eve hatch and had 19 orpingtons in a play pen from Jan 1 until last month. I always do that with my chicks.

I have 2 eight week olds and 2 seven week olds in the basement. The finished basement.

They're going out as soon as the coop gets finished (planned to be this weekend, but things happen). They probably have another week minimum before they're out.

I keep my chicks in a wash tub brooder in the basement for a week or two before they move to the stock tank in the garage.

Two days ago I had 17 in my livingroom. The older 7 "5 weeks old" were evicted to the porch / outside brooder. The other 10 are a week old, and will be inside until they feather out to at least 90%. One of the older chicks got picked on, so now she is a house pullet! Sweet little girl, have no idea when she will go back out though!

She was lonely so she went in with the babies, supervised of course. she wound up with 8 out of 10 under her. So cute!
