How many of you have your chicks in your house?

yup, 14 chicks in my office and 6 ducklings in the living room. 48 eggs in incubators. Until I can afford a proper barn, this is the way it will be! Here they are 3 weeks and 2 days ago:

I made a great transition pen in the garage this past winter for one of my silkies that was sick and the two babies I got her to cheer her up. She was in the house for 3 months. I had to move them to the garage because the three of them in my dinning room was very pine dusty. I took a cheep shower curtin from the dollar store put it on the floor, unrolled chicken wire to make a large round play pen, took good old duck tape and made two rounds on the bottom of the wire to make a short wall (two widths of the duck tape)and then added pine chip/bedding. I was able to hang heat lamps and it gave them a good amount of room to run around.

sweeterdeeter42 my chicks always have squatters rights on the half bath and I currently have a 6 week old polish top hat in a bin in the living room. She was given to me and I don't want her to be lonely so she is with the rest of the human family until she is safe to mengle with the other girls.

12 chicks in the rubbermaid in an upstairs bedroom and around 60 eggs due to hatch 1 week from today . Everyone stays in the house till they're at least 4 weeks old ,maybe older, depends on outside temps.

Can anyone tell I'm new? Haven't figured out how to personalize my posts yet! DUH!

Anywho, by the time I'm done I wont be able to use my master bath. So far, 11 call ducks split up into two bins (messiest birds on the planet!). 2 dewlap toulouse a little over a week old, 6 LF Cochin chicks just hatched a few days ago, and, lets see, 1 dewlap due in a week, 14 barred cochins due in 2 wks, 11 lemon blue cochins set yesterday, 8 BLRW's set yesterday, 8 Sebbie eggs set five days ago, and more eggs on the way!

My hubby thinks I've gone to the birds! I'm like, "You better believe it mister!" Wouldn't have it any other way. The kids love it too. They're my little chicken farmers!

ITs not weird AT all! We have kept our chicks in our house unless we let our hen raise them. (Bad idea for us) So dont worry

How would we watch their dust-bathing antics and chick bowling olympics if they weren't in the house???

If we had to go outside to hang over the brooder at all hours to see what they are up to, nothing would ever get done inside the house.

I have 22 three week old chicks in the basement. Also 6 Cornish X's and 4 duckilings that are 1 week old.. The incubator has 33 eggs expectied to hatch about April 21. And alot of eggs going into another incubator today. (I don't have room for all the eggs) I think I need another 'bator!
