How many times do they have to mate to get fertile eggs

I have a female muscovy duck and if I want her to have babies I need a male. There are plenty of males just living and being a nuisance in my neighborhood. Can I just walk my duck around the block to search for a male and let them do the dirty? How many time would I need to do that? Is it possible?

Invite one of the nuisances into your back yard. But honestly why would you want to let her hatch ducklings if the scovy's already there are being a "nuisance" already?
That is one reason people think of scovy's as nuisances they are prolific breeders so it's up to us as owners to keep them from becoming what you just described. Some places actually kill them off from being a nuisance that is very sad.

They are meat birds. Some even say their breast meat tastes like sirloin steak. I could go around the neighborhood and collect the birds and give it to a guy that offers $10 a bird each (that would be prue profit). The neighbors would complain though even though its not against the law.

I was told in Florida you can kill any Muscovy's because they are Nuisance birds. The population is way over board. Yes they are meat birds and I have no problem with that at all. But to inhumanely kill them is so unacceptable. Ocala Fla did it one year.

If you are going to be catching wild muscovies, might want to get some long leather gloves and a full set of carharts. The poo will be flying and they scratch worse than anything! I have 8 week old muscovies who have been hand raised and they do not like being caught or handled much especially now that they are out in their run on their own. So, I can't imagine catching wild ones or even semi-tame ones at a park.
If you want your own flock, why not look on Craigslist. There are always drakes for sale - even muscovies.
But, you have quite a few months to be worried about mating, broodiness, and hatching ducklings.
