How many treats a day?

Today I have my chickens a whole cucumber and then it started getting hotter so I gave them 1/4 of a watermelon. I felt bad for them since it’s 90+ degrees outside at the moment. Is this two many treats for one day?

With the price of watermelon, you can stop by and give me treats anytime. My birds would probably jump in your car and leave with you, all they get is rinds.

Ideally treats should be around 10 per cent of their diet I give them bits most days but in lower quantities they should be fine x

While fully dependent on how many chickens you have, I will guess too much treats.

They will most likely be fine. But I would suggest no treats for a week and then no more than 10% of daily intake to be treats. Think a tablespoon or so each.

That may be a little a lot for 3 girls. Haha. But those are healthy treats so don't feel too bad. Maybe to keep them cool try one of the many ideas people have on here like making an ice cube thing with mealworms, etc inside or freezing something or another? Then that way it lasts a little longer.

I have 4 girls and they get 1 or 2 different treats a day. But not much. Just now the 4 of them shared 3 cherries. Or they might share 1 hardboiled egg. Or half a banana.
