How much time do you really spend with your duck?

I personally don’t have ducks but I spend about 10 mins everyday just holding my chicken. That doesn’t count taking care of them.
My chickens don't want to be held. So, I only hold them if needed. The same with my ducks. ;)

I have ‘working mom guilt’ so I try to spend as much time with them as possible when I’m not working and traveling. I spend about 2 hours with them in the morning while I’m feeding, cleaning and watching them swim and forage. If my work schedule allows I’ll spend 15 mins with them here and there throughout the day. Then I’m with them for about 3 hours at night, again while I’m feeding, cleaning and watching them swim - and we usually take an afternoon walk. I don’t know what I’m going to do when the daylight hours decrease. :(

I am actually looking forward to it getting darker sooner, so I can put those ducks to bed before 10:30 pm.
I must be a horrible duck person as I don't spend as much time. Not when I really think about it.

You are not a horrible duck person or you wouldn’t be concerned about it. As long as they are safe, healthy and happy then you’re doing your job :highfive: just enjoy the time you do spend with them!

Your a good Duck Momma..You don't have to be with them constantly..I spend too much time with mine..:th
My Husband tells me I'm going to wear out the back door because I'm in and out constantly doing something with my Birds..:gig..I'm owned by my Dogs and Birds..:barnie
Winter is coming and then I'm not out as much either..:woot

It really depends on the day and what sort of time I have to spend with them.

Right now I have my adult drake separated from my hen and her 10 week old babies, so I try to go out a couple times a day to play with him and make sure he doesn't get lonely. Ever since I've started taking more risks with him (he can be a hard biter lol) with playing, and after a week away at a high school camp, he and I have gotten a lot closer.

As for my 23 other ducks, I try to spend plenty of time with them, playing, letting them chew on my fingers, and giving belly scratches. Aspen, my adult hen, has gotten broodier and won't really come up to me anymore, but if I spend enough time outside she'll come over.
