How soon should baby quail poop?

I was satisfied that it would, big time.


I'll be setting a clutch after sunset tonight. I try to set at the full moon and hatch on the new.


So how many hatches did you wind up with?

I set a dozen using the faulty thermometer and ended up with just two hatching.

As soon as I realized the first group had been incubating at such a low temp, I set another dozen. They started hatching last night and there are eight chicks so far.

The proper temp makes a big difference.

I want these for breeding stock, and I'm thinking those first two chicks that managed to make it despite the poor circumstances might pass on some hardy genes.
