Remember the white color is only masking the true color. For example, if I remember correctly what Deerman had told me, I bred the charcoal pair he gave me which is a white eyed charcoal peacock to a IB split to charcoal hen (he was suppose to check before he passed if the hen has any white in her). I hatched 4 white, 1 pied, 1 charcoal w/e male, 2 charcoal hens and 2 IB hens one white eyed. Now he told me that I will not know what the whites are until they breed. If the white hens do not lay eggs, they are white charcoals and if the white male throws a charcoal then he will be a rare white charcoal peacock. Unfortunately Charcoal hens do not lay eggs so right now I know I have 2 charcoal hens as they are the charcoal color. Now if the 3 white hens do lay eggs and they are fertile then they will be white India Blue split to charcoal hens. Deerman told me to keep good records which is what I am doing because then when I want to sell my birds I can say this bird is a white IB peacock and not just a white. Knowing what color is actually under the white will help in creating other colors down the road.
