How to make “Start a New Thread” easier?

When I first joined, I found navigating the site confusing, finally figured out some of it, I've been a member of many forums, groups, boards (back when there were those) etc for years, I am currently a member of several groups on FB and admin/manage several.. I do not believe there are a large number that do not read.. but I do believe that others can find it just as confusing as I did and still do at times. Taking time to explain is always best.

More specifically, I had (and still do have) trouble determining what forum some of my threads should be in.

Semantics. Post new thread & start new thread mean different things in my head. I have to remember each time what is meant by the instruction ~ & I'm not new to forums.

I will not say what comes to mind here I joined about 5 years ago never had any introduction did figure it out able to do things and assist most try to nudge when one tries to hijack explain how to start a thread I think most of us who can will do all we can for another

In a word? Yes.. trying to post from my phone is even more confusing for me.. and I am not new to this kinda stuff. I appreciate it when people, such as yourself will take time to explain things to me and not make me feel like a idiot. A little loving kindness goes a long way.
