I couldn't agree more.

Oh I totally agree. I'm not trying to make hunters look bad. I hunt myself...Its just I get really irritated with the idiots.

my hunting clubs #1 RULE ON BUCKS is ..it must have a minimum of 130 inches of antler...or a 500 dollar fine to be paid on the spot...and if you draw blood without recovering your buck...250..dollar fine..pretty strict hunting..makes you place your shot correctly...and age your animal before you shoot....

I've been hunting since I was old enough too...It was really nice this year being able to walk out the back door and hunt on the property I live on. Like I said I have been watching the deer with my trail cam since the 1st of nov. While I was hunting we had a doe and her 2 yearlings come through everyday. The one lil one came trotting down the feild towards me so I made some movement to try and get it to stay away. Well it tossed its head and picked up speed. It got about 20 feet from me and turned into the trees. Everytime they came out they would look right at us. It was fun. All the deer I saw this year saw me. Looked right at me. I was thinking that I was going to try and feed them this winter. Help them out a bit. I like having them around. Wether I shoot them or not. I should post a thread with some of my pics from this year.

I just heard the saddest story at the Dr.s office this morning, a man said his friend went hunting in Va. shot & killed a deer, went to his truck put his gun in the truck and TOOK OFF his orange vest & put that in truck too, went to get his deer instead of dragging it out, he threw it over his shoulder, well the unthinkable happened...he was shot! unfortunately he didn't make it, I just sat in disbelief, what a terrible tragedy.........

Honey, I know just what you mean. I had this happen to me once last year and again this year !! Other hunter need to have some respect. We are trying just as hard as they are to get the "BBD" ya know! I hunt 2 or 3 times a week, when I can!! I'm in a great hunting club, but just wish others had the same respect for the deer as I do !! Also. Let them grow. I bow hunt also. And find the same things happen in bow season !! Good luck girl !!

@Staplehead. There are a few of us still left !! I don't do the "make up thing" but I can say I like to look good or (try to) when I go anywhere but hunting. Then I have my game "face on" it's all about meat on the table. Then it's ON ! The big bucks on the wall !! You know what Staplehead ...., I love an ol country boy !!

Well okay!

I'm done for the year. My main goal now is to make sure this idiot doesn't get any of my deer. Hopefully me and the dog going out there will keep them away today.

Your quote above makes no sense--- game animals belong to no one. You can't claim them as yours. Regardless of skill level, if the idiot is legally licensed, following the rules of law, he is making a legal hunt.

Secondly in your original post you talk about taking 2 deer- one which dropped in it's tracks- the other was taken/stolen by some one else who claimed he shot it. So the second deer shot evidently did not drop like a rock, it must have been wounded and managed to cover some ground before it succumbed to it's wounds. If I read correctly, this is one of the problems you have with the idiot. Being a "hunter" myself, I know that of all fatal shots, very very very few are instantly fatal. On a deer sized target pulling a shot by 6" or less can be all the difference, very very very few of us can claim 100% accuracy.

What I know for a fact-- they ain't no hunter in the world that hasn't miffed a shot atleast once (or twice or ten times)-- including myself. Sure some people who claim to be hunters are nothing more than misguided individuals wondering about in the woods WITH GUNS, others are unlucky- and others are the true 10% whose skill level far exceeds the average Joe.
