I do agree, but understand why someone thought they needed to try.

Supposedly, they were only going to be contained like that for a few hours. Yet, since so many roads are now almost in gridlock, that could be questionable. Of course, this was a couple days ago (I think), so they may have been able to get out of the area pretty quickly.

A lot of stories about people trying to find help to save their animals to the ones like the guy who put his most important chickens in mesh bags to hang from rafters in his barn.

People will do anything to try and save their pets or livestock. Even if uncomfortable for awhile.

I had pet carriers to put my ferrets in if there was ever a reason to leave the house in a hurry. When our house caught fire, there was NO time to stop and transfer ferrets from cage to carriers. I just dragged the entire Ferret Nation cage out the back door. As it turned out, the fire was so close, it burned one of the hanging "pocket keepers" on the back side of the cage. Taking it out the kitchen door broke off all but one of the caster wheels.

But I got all eight of them outside.
Oh my! That was really close.
