Naughty naughty. I could count on one hand the number of times I've been pulled over.

I could too. But that hand would have a lot of fingers.

What?
I have a heavy foot.

Who doesn't.

I like driving fast.

So, Crazy Lady decides we need another car for the kids. Makes a deal with an old college friend who's daughter's car was confiscated. Anyone see a problem yet?

This Dodge Charger shows up and I'm told to pay for it. No negotiation or nothing. Previous owner was a teenage girl and there was wheat in the undercarriage. Wheat!

So after replacing the shocks, oil pan plug, front suspension and tires, Crazy Lady says it's the teenagers. Excuse me?!? Who is paying insurance?

Long story short, I get this 3.7 liter V6. Not the hemi, thankfully. For a sedan, I really like it. Roomy. It'll get up and go. Gas mileage is better than the trucks, but it takes a quart of oil every other fillup and isn't leaking anymore. I really didn't want a sports car with a bunch of teenagers. BTW, they like driving it too. They get to when I'm working on their cars.

Anyone have anything happen like that?

Hmmmm... When Son was ready to drive I told him get a job and buy a car. I'd pay insurance until he was adult. When Daughter started driving, I gave her same speech and when she was ready to graduate HS, DW instructs me to buy her a sports car (ford probe) and present it at her graduation party with a big bow on it. It took about a month for her to drive it up under a tow truck. Well at least it was convenient... He was able to tow it to the body shop.:he

Well, I hope she learned a lesson, when someone gives a great gift, you should take really good care of it, or it may not be there anymore. Personal opinion, never buy a teenager a new car, best if they get a used one, if it's a gift. Now if they have worked and it's their money, that's a little different.

My brother and I had to buy our own cars. We lived in town so it was easy enough to walk to work to earn the money for them. With our kids, I think if we don't get them a car, they won't be able to get to work anywhere. We have 4 years till our oldest is old enough to drive. Hopefully, I can get a new car by then and he can have my old forester lol. He can move up from there on his own :)
