Kiki I'm making DW a B-52 tonight

Flash tell me those are pics from last year and not now:hit It's too early to hit you like that:oops:
lol @rjohns39. Actually those pics were from the winter of 2016 - January 23rd at 12:30pm or a few minutes either side of it with averages of several inches to over 30 inches each time.

It was the winter before that I had a ton of snow - and so much on the ground that was topped with inches of sleet. So bad that no wilds could find much to eat. That's when I started making wildlife bars out of grains, seeds, dog food, lard (usually for my homemade soaps) and other saved grease, and whatever scraps I could find.

That was the winter I hung a feeder up in a tree for the squirrels - and that when spring came, I had to get a ladder because it was six foot over my head. The snow was Deep.

This past winter we had no real winter. Suited me just FINE. I think we had a lot less snow than normal (maybe a couple of feet total), but lots of COLD and Ice.

That said and with the extremely wet spring and summer I have had here, I would NOT be surprised if we get several blizzards. I think even the Farmer's Almanac lists at least five. We will see, I suppose - but I am still not going out except for birds.

And if it looks like a REALLY bad winter, those same birds may end up in my basement! :lau

Sounds like you live in a horrible area.

It's passed my bedtime.
I came back real quick to share this page.

There are some videos from PR. This guy is a reporter (I think) and had been down there during the hurricane but just left to come back.

Ha...crime...Delaware - highest murder rate per capita (at least last I heard....I'm afraid to look it up so whoever mentioned Chicago now has that title.....) :barnie
Some places are very uncomfortable to be - which is sad. Double locked doors around here, car alarms, pepper spray in purse. I live in a quiet neighborhood but my hubby informed me that prior to me moving in...the house was broken into and many of his computer items stolen. I know my car has been broken into twice in my own driveway...not that I leave anything in there but they did take a pair of Coach sunglasses...which pissed me off. The inner city (Wilmington) is a whole different beast.
Exactly that kind of thing is what made me move to this small town in Missouri from California when I retired. Concealed carry is pretty common here.

Pasadena - they used the same names in several spots. Pasadena is near the original Gilley's bar of Urban Cowboy fame. Houston is still an oil town.

China, Texas, is just to the East near Winnie, Texas. Cut and shoot, Texas, is north.

I want to go to Dime box, Texas, one day to say I've been there.

Gilley's! When I was in my early 20's I hung out at a country western dance place/bar. Always wanted to go to Gilley's and ride the mechanical bull. lol Never made it. Can't do it now or I'd break something when I get bucked off.

Ok... Well here goes. First its important to know that I'm a bit nerdy and love food science and science in general.

I'm also big into efficiency and process improvement.... And I use a LOT of stock.

So here's the stock pot I use... Last time I made stock, I got 92 quarts.

Hot damn, you sound down right handy to have around the house. What the hell you do with all that stock?

I make a bourbon cranberry sauce and can it for later. Don't buy the stuff in the can--but have to make two batches DW doesn't like the whole berries, so I run hers through the sieve. I also put up cranberry juice and cranapple juice.:pop
You sound pretty darn handy too!

The B-52's
Thanks, thanks a lot. Now I keep hearing EEEEE EEEEE EEEEEE

Farmhouse Seed Bread---GF

It will be lumpy at this point, and as one kiddo succinctly put it, look like ogre boogers. Add to flour/salt and mix on "2" with dough hook till combined.

Let rise, punch down, and put in greased loaf pans. (I think it makes around 3--4 loaves) Let rise in warm oven for 40 minutes or so and cook at 350 for 60-70 min or until it looks done.
Are you kidding me? If I find any ogre boogers in my mixing bowl I'm gonna punch them down all right.

Puerto Rico needs more help:hit
Yes, they surely do. I hope that the US will hurry up and let the help help. I did hear on the news a bit ago a woman said they do have enough fuel, but need it delivered or something like that.
