We steamed the tamales in a metal bucket sealed up tight on top with a lid.
That is pretty much how I did it, with the natural curve.
What is a sweet tamale?
I have never heard of one before.....don't tell me I can make pumpkin filled ones???
I stil have pumpkins to cook.
I personally dont care for the sweet ones but you just sweeten the masa with sugar and (can add some pink food coloring if you like the festive look) some of those candied fruits like people put in fruitcakes. Chop up the fruits and mix with the sweetened masa. Cook the same.;)
 
@KikisGirls when you said we stop counting at 50 was that 50 eggs or 50 dozen eggs or 50 score eggs? We just hit a dozen dozens!

the tamales look scrumptious! How did a Coonass learn to make tamales? Mom learned from by friend's mom when I was 8. Mom was an Arkansas gal. I never learned. But I learned how to eat them. Salsa verde or salsa rojo.
