@adrikeen HELLO!!!!
Where are you????
Sorry! Work was busy and drama filled this week. Time change means me getting home after dark and trying to deal with outside stuff while not being able to see.
Tree cutters clean up their mess yet?
NOPE! And I'm MAD!!!! :mad:
Chili win this time?
He lost...:lau I shouldn't laugh but I knew it. That will teach him not to listen to his palat deficient friends and listen to his wife!
Did the Chef steal your computer?
Nah...in fact he's been asking me if I've been on with all of you!

Hi everyone! Sorry for the absence. I've had a harrowing last few nights trying to get the girls ready for the cold snap. Try installing heaters in the dark. I thought I had it all done Thursday night only to find last night (as temps were plummeting) that one of the power cords wasn't working. :barnie
I did manage to get all heating devices working, the girls tucked in for the night, and up early to see how they did. I am able to make it so the doors pop when they jump down and they let themselves out but one of the doors did get stuck (which means more fiddling today). So...I had to go into a frozen chicken coop, while in my pajamas...and open a door. My new neighbors are probably thinking I'm insane at this point. :lau (especially if they've seen me at all the past few nights looking like a miner with tools and headlamp).

This weekend is hopefully getting up the extension to the coop (this depends on Chef and his carpentry skills) and lining the coop with the shower curtains for the winter. Zip ties here we go!!!

@KikisGirls when you said we stop counting at 50 was that 50 eggs or 50 dozen eggs or 50 score eggs? We just hit a dozen dozens!

the tamales look scrumptious! How did a Coonass learn to make tamales? Mom learned from by friend's mom when I was 8. Mom was an Arkansas gal. I never learned. But I learned how to eat them. Salsa verde or salsa rojo.

Cheers!
I am pretty much self taught when it comes to the kitchen.
:woot

Self taught is the best. Not afraid to try things and experiment. I told the son that cooking was chemistry. He wound up making better rice than me and explaining why it worked. I'm so proud.

Lunch room discussion around my chicken pumpkin soup. Apparently, everyone thought pumpkin was sweet and that is why you only made pies and cookies with it. These are smart people. I still don't care for pumpkin pie. But in soup, it is great!

What can you teach me today? Attempting to plan a garden and I know nothing. Reading bunches though, so I'm learning.
