I think you are allergic to the stitches. I would ask them to remove them right away. You are gonna be scarred terribly from them.

There will be a big scar as the bottom half split open (we have dark meat BTW). As bad as it looks once I got the antibiotic going there has been no pain, just real unsightly. I get the purple prison off in TWO WEEKS, counting down.....

A friend suggested I get a big snake tattoo to blend/hide the scars. They will be from ankle to top of my knee, in a few years the knee joint will be replaced too.

Aren't casts a pain, especially in the summer! I have a scar on my right foot that looks just like yours will; and three of them on my left foot. and for those I didn't even get a pretty purple cast; just Ace bandages and one of those very attractive blue surgical shoes.

Hope the infection clears right up! And remember not to share germs with the chickens!

NA, yep the ace bandages didn't work for me, too many stairs in the house, uneven ground outside. I warned them I don't live in town in the concrete jungle!

I think the infection is controlled, the cast is to keep the joint immobile so the skin can knit over the wound.

It's a miserable, cold, rainy weekend here. That keeps me indoors for the most part. I think I will sharpen saw chains and organize my basement a little.
