Wow matching cast and nail polish!!!! I am sorry to hear that it isn't healing well. I have to ask though, why the cast? Wouldn't that deter the wound from getting air and healing?

Seeing wounds like that is what prevented me from becoming a nurse.

I hope the antibiotics really start kicking butt so you your foot can heal totally. I have a friend whose husband fell off a roof over a year ago. To this day the docs still can't get his foot/ankle to heal. He is still in yet another cast.

The skin isn't sealing. I think the ankle is just moving ever so much, even in the cast, that keeps cracking it open. The infection is gone but it pretty much looks the same in ugliness.

I have wanted them to stitch it or staple it for a month now....

I need to get my firewood cut, split and stacked yet plus a whole host of other chores I can't do in a stinkin cast.

Like I keep telling my Mom...SIT DOWN! STAY HOME! PUT YOUR FOOT UP!

My mom has been going through the same problems for the past year or two. She's had surgery on her knee and foot (at different times) and both of them involved infections and not healing well, and her body rejecting the stitches and the "hardware" they put in her foot. They had to go back in and remove everything and just "hope" it heals OK. It's getting better now, but not great, and her foot keeps swelling. It's a long slow road.

I'm sorry it's been so difficult for you...but I just have to say you have the prettiest long toes!!!! As far as the nail polish I always wear silver so I think it's nice!

Have they screeened you for diabetes? If not, I would ask for that pronto! Diabetes can cause things to heal poorly.
