If you don't know where the PC Receipt is, have her call the PC consultant who had the party (or call the girlfriend who had the party, and get the name/number) The PC consultant may very well have a copy of the receipt/order on file, and then you can use that to send it in to PC for a replacement.
My girlfriend was a PC consultant for YEARS, and my kitchen looks like the catalog warehouse.
I had one stone crack after only a year, and I have the other stone that was bought in the same order, 11 YEARS AGO, that is still going strong.
Sometimes there can be a small airbubble or fault in the stone that is invisible to the eye, but reacts under heat stress. It happens, PC knows it does, and that is why they guarantee their product. No sense making the few people that have a broken stone angry when so many more love their stones like their own children (or, if you have teenagers, maybe MORE than your children!

p.s. on a funny side note, My friend had a huge tow-behind camper and they rolled it on the freeway (everyone was fine). The camper DESINTIGRATED by the time it stopped rolling, and they had stuff scattered for 1/4 mile on the freeway median. As we were sorting through the wreckage waiting for the semi flatbed towtruck, we found the pocket of kitchen stuff. Every single PC stone except 1 survived intact! (she had 6 or 7 on the trip) Glasses were shattered, plates were shattered, but the stones were fine!
p.s.s. If I had a husband that baked fresh bread while I was at work, I would forgive a lot more than a broken stone!!!
