My first pip has ZIPPED and is talking to me! Not out yet but making a large effort.

First pip is from an Orp/Del cross (Stacy girl's first chick).


A second egg has pipped! Splash Orp/Buff Orp cross.


I feel ridiculously giddy.

I know how you feel. I had my first ever hatch 6 weeks ago. It can be very stressful, but also very exciting. Now you can relax a bit and enjoy watching them pop out of their shells!

Ok, first little one is out and churping like crazy – is that normal – the constant crying? It is the crying that an unhappy chick makes and it is so hard for me not to scoop it up and cuddle.

Gosh broodies are so much less stress!
