I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!!!!

Thank you!
But I thought you could tell somehow by their earlobes??

Shrug, darker earlobes often mean darker eggs and white earlobes often mean white eggs. But not always and you will learn by the slight size differences and various shapes and colors exactly who lays what. With 6 hens you'll be able to learn.

Thanks!

My Buff Orpington's should be laying brown eggs, and my Golden Laced Wyandotte's should be laying.... brown too!

Huh?
My Buff’s lay larger egg than my Wyandotte’s
The BO’s are light brown, the Wyandotte’s are darker and have a pointy end or say cone shape.
I also have a PBR which is about as dark as the Wyandotte’s but as big as the BO’s

One of my six started to lay a good month before the others, they will get there!
Congratulations!

Congratulations it sure is exciting!
We got our first egg Saturday and have had one each day since. I wish I knew which of our 6 has started laying too. For ours I’m guessing it’s the one that developed their comb and wattles the earliest and was the chattiest. I plan to hang out near the coop today around the time the next egg will arrive and hopefully solve the mystery.
