I got a haircut

Hey..Hey...never fear the hairdresser is here. Your cut from what I can tell in the front does look pretty close...only just a tad short.
Unfortunatly the girl in the pic looks like she has thicker hair than you do and when I say thicker I mean density - amount of hair per square inch on your head.
But that is totally ok cause brushes and products are a ladies hair friend. Now this is what you need to do to style your hair...........

From the looks of your hair is pretty straight...so there is no need for a straight iron.....You need one of those round brushes preferably ceramic coated and 3" and of coarse a blow dryer ( yes the ceramic ones are dandy) Ceramic coated hair instuments are great because they are not so damaging to your hair and it creates a real smooth non frizzy look to your hair and makes it shinier too.

.
Next while your hair is damp begin to blow dry and use your round brush while drying, start at the crown and lift while twirling the brush in the direction that you want it to lay....make sure you lift ...that's where all that wonderful volume you see in the pic comes in at. After it is dry and poofy make sure you have one of those comb and pick combo thingy ....you know has a comb on one end and a "metal " pick on the other end....these are great for lifting, separating, and placing your hair. Take the pick end and begin to lift and spray (hair spray) the hair to desired height starting at the crown once you have the desired look in that area move to the front lifting and spraying ...make sure you have your part separated and placed where you want it...now for the little piece-y looks around the face you can make those by using a pomade ...but use very little because if you use too much it will make your hair look greasy...I prefer to use Redken water wax it is the best for separating those smooth piece-y looking hairs. ....

So you need hairspray, comb/pick combo, 3" round brush, blow dryer, pomade/water wax...play around with it don't get stressed hair is fun.......tease it underneath to get more volume if you need too....but seriously just play around with it...you will get it. And you picked a great cut and syle for your face shape....your adorable.

..So chin up Missy...it's all good .....don't forget we want to see pics of your new style when you are done....and shame on that stylist for not showing you how to style your hair.

Well, it's a new day and I went to school

You know high school has always been cruel

And THESE days, NO ONE holds abck

BUT Im unpopular (++++) and only about 10 people matter to me, and they all LOVED IT! I don't care what others think, and got NO negatives on it (maybe because my hair was always in a messy bun so they didn't expect much

)

So it's all good. I have spray wax so I an style it but I like it flat

Hey! Stop it! You don't look anything, anything like a boy! The cut may not be what you wanted, but it still looks cute on you. You look like an intelligent young girl, play with it! It will be fine, and hey, you might like it after a while. My hair is short too, (fine and limp, can't grow it long) and I've had plenty of bad haircuts and you just have to play with it. It all works out in the end. Chin up girl!

Remember that the woman in the example picture sat in a chair for probably an hour having some high paid professional style it. It is also probably so stiff from product that she could walk through a hurricane and it would still hold its shape (and be water resistant, too). I had a similar hairdo many many moons ago, you will need good gel and some spray. A pick and a comb (for the occasional teasing). Blow drying it with your head upside down while spraying here and there. It's a ton of work, but it's the only way my hair, which looks to be very very similar to yours, would get that fluff.

From your picture, even though your hair looks different then what you wanted, it's still very cute on you.

But, maybe couple of purple streaks in the front?

When I make a drastic change to my style like you did, I always give myself 1week to work with it and adjust. If at the end of the week I hate it, then I head back to the stylist to get some changes made. But I can tell you I haven't done that too often, I think it's just a big mental block you have to overcome that when you look in the mirror what you see is different than you are used to! I LOVE it!!! Great Summer cut!!!

The only thing I'm worried about right now, is in the back at the side there is a little poof LOL. I'll try to find someone that KNOWS how to cut hair to fix it

For now some gel on it will fix it

Short hair is cute on you! You can get a large round brush and blow dry it to make it have more volume like in the picture. It's not going to look exactly the same, but it will be close.

I agree with ol fashioned hen! I am also a stylist... I wanted to add to remember to only use a round brush on hair that is 90% dry. Hair can stretch up to 50% of it's length while wet and if you use a round brush on it, it can cause breakage. Also, these brushes were designed to be used on almost dry hair.

What the stylist failed to do with your cut (other than not showing you how to style) is not leave the front corner. It looks like it was angled around your face, which is very cute, but not the pic you showed.

Hope this helps!!

The problem with picking a picture out and wanting your hair 'just like that" is that chances are you dont have the same texture or thickness of hair as the person in the picture. I used to bring in pictures all the time and my stylist would tell me... "you just don't have enough hair to make that style look the same as the picture.
Keep it in mind when you are looking at pics and try to pick someone with similiar hair type , amount and thickness. And also one that you are willing to style . It sounds like you like the style but dont really want to do the styling that you have to do to get that look. I'm also more of a wash and wear type .... so now that i've resigned to that... I'm much happier with the results of my cuts as I reset my expectations of what me and my hair are capable of... which is basically nothing LOL straight , flat hair most of the time

But it is wash and wear... which fits my needs too....
