The current chicks are all cinnamon red breasted.
From the front and top, typical hen:
But then there’s this:
I’ve read that red at the vent means male no matter what, but she really looks like a hen in all other ways, and the orange at the tail looks more like an extension of the back speckles than the normal red at the vent, also these chicks are 4+ weeks, and the normal looking males have the red vent extending up the front and sides, this one just has tail blotches. I separated the m/fs yesterday and I left this one with the hens, I felt like one male among hens didn’t pose the same dangers as one hen among males.
