this is blanche, we got her and 3 other babies as day old chicks on March 24th 2017.

she is starting to look like a he...i know us and we cannot have a rooster. it just wouldnt work.

so if it is a rooster, is there a good/safe way to rehome him?

im a sap, and these ladies are very much pets. i perish the thought that one be kept for fighting or something equally disgraceful, so while i know that the feed store that ordered them (they were paid for as being sexed, but i understand thats not always 100%) will take him back, but i dont know if thats the best way to go.

im in northern colorado (hope my images posted)

do you think he will be culled if you have a refund? xx:(

im not sure. the way it was explained to me was that they 'hang onto them in case someone comes in to buy a rooster'....and when my husband was in there recently, someone did come in asking for a rooster...so, im sure they dont hold onto them permanently, but i almost dont want to know the alternative, should i need to utilize their return policy. if we had more land, id keep him. but my backyard backs up to another backyard with two others on either side. its a neighborhood, and i dont wanna be *that* neighbor. (i already have bark-y dogs)

Shoot, is there any chance that a 16 week old Buff Orpington would crow constantly and still be a hen? Please? Amelia (ha!) is much bigger than the two other hens from the same hatching date and has a lovely comb. And super more aggressive. Should I wait for laying or should I move him/her on now? I have to carry a squirt bottle in the yard when he/she is out.
