I think I killed my chicks...

That's a shame... Is there signs of life in any other eggs? (except for the pipping one.
Yes - one other had a slight pip that’s since increased, but nothing like “go time” ready and I don’t see any other pips as of now I’m the three others. 5 total left and two showing signs. It’s only day 20 so there is hope for the other three as well. I just hope to get them out safe and sound.

If the chick is weak here's what you can do .get your bottle of poultry Nutri drench (at your local feed store) or infant vitamins called "poly-vi-sol without iron". can find the chicks beak. put one drop only in the beak.
it will give them the energy they need to keep pipping.
Best,
Karen
Thanks for the advice - I will get this to have on hand for next time - unfortunately I’m snowed in with a 4 yr old who has the flu (and here I am watching the chicks...I swear I’m taking care of the kid, too!)

I have to disagree with dripping anything on a hatching chick's beak. Could too easily aspirate it, and it should never be necessary. Nutridrench is awesome suff, after they fully hatch. JMHO

WVDuck,
The distress the chick is in, I figure it is a Hail Mary approach. If it doesn't get extra nutritional help for strength, it's probably going to die. Since the Nutri drench doesn't need to be digested and goes straight to the chicks bloodstream, I figure it's the product of choice .

Wouldnt the yolk give them the energy they need for hatching? I am new at hatching, so I may be wrong.
