I was told this rooster came from Pakistan? Edited

I don't know what that is. I'll have to look it up. I did look up Shamo and according to the description and a picture he fits the bill on that breed. There is only 1 thing I don't know if it matches is how he stands. We have had him in quarenteen in a pen and if he stands tall like the Shamo do, he can't in that pen. I don't want to let him out just yet. The pen is big enough as far as space just not that tall. None of my chickens that have been in that pen where ever tall enough for it to be too short for them. This pen is used temporarily for young chickens.

About a month ago the man was having a problem with somebody's dog. His was in heat and the new visiting male was attacking his puppy. He was very angry when he came over to ask us if it was our dog and that if it came back he would shoot it. Well, it wasn't our dog, ours is an old female and spayed at that. She doesn't leave the yard. I know he can hear our roosters and we let them out to roam sometimes so I know he's seen them too. Maybe he was trying to make a kind gesture to make up for his rudeness about the dog. We where not offended by it. I would have been very angry too if it where me in his place.

I tried to look it up and got a bunch of links about Turkey and not the bird. I really think its a Shamo.

Well the thing that is keeping Shamo out of my mind is they are of Japanese descent, where the Asil are a Pakistani fowl.

I looked at those sites and he still looks like the Shamo to me. I need to let him out to see how he stands. I just don't want my other roos to get all excited. They are safely in a coop with a run but my AO would not back down even with wire between them. He's a little buy with an attitude. He is very dominant also. I could block the door so he can't get out of the coop and into the run. That would work. I'll do that as soon as I can. Probably not till Saturday or Sunday. I get another pic for ya.

I think he is beautiful. What a nice gesture on your neighbors part, are they Pakistani or just bird enthusiasts? You should ask him some questions about it, sounds like he wants to be a good neighbor.
Can't wait to see a pic of him standing.

Well.. I'm not sure what breed he is, but.... I think he's <umm>

Wow, thats the first time I have ever seen somebody tell somebody else that their bird is UGLY. Gosh, if I was attached to this bird I would be offended, but i'm not. I think he is beautiful. I love his coloring. Thank you for taking the time for your useful imput.

No problem. Anytime.
