If you like beer and beautiful scenery you will love the place. They have little towns everywhere and the people are very friendly. It's very clean compared to the USA. Even the big cities are very clean. You don't see people standing on corners begging or free loading whichever is the case. Of course they have a very good social safety net.
I knew a number of soldiers that married German women and stayed there. Of course that was back in 81. It may be different now. I know that they have recovered from the worldwide economic depression a lot faster than us. They paid their factories to keep people on at slightly reduced wages so that the citizens would continue buying goods and they actually collect taxes there. So they are in much better shape than us.
At any rate they have a very nice country. I still prefer it here though. I would love to be able to travel Europe. Italy was really cool too. No where near as clean as Germany but the cathedrals were great and lots of neat murals and ceiling artwork. The cathedral in Milan is amazing. We went there on a troop exchange program. It was a blast. Their Army is really lax compared to ours. They don't train near as much as our troops do. So we showed them a lot of stuff they didn't know.
If you get a chance to go to Europe be sure to do it.

Thank you for bringing back the subject that was posted, although many do not agree with the views Mr. Pragger holds there is much to ponder in this speech. I am saddened by the hate that many have expressed...
Who has expressed hate? Since when did disagreeing with someone equate with hate? I haven't read anything on here that seemed hateful, only comments that dispute this man's position.

Don't have to be in a non-English speaking country to have them laugh at you. Went to Ireland a few years ago with my sister and my mother. We were in a hotel in Blarney and order some Baileys on the rocks. Bartended laughed "on the rocks? Shall I get some from the Blarney stone?" Of course if you read the back of a bottle of Baileys it says "best served on the rocks"
So if I go to another country and learn its language, does that mean I have to stop speaking English? Even with my American friends? And if I speak English to my friends does that mean everyone else is allowed to just assume I don't speak the national language and I'm "too lazy" to learn it? That's what some posters here are expecting from immigrants in the U.S. I suspect that many people who get their panties in a wad about others speaking another language are just ticked that they themselves are not multi-lingual. Otherwise, why can't they just ignore it and go about their business? No one is asking them to speak that other language, so it's no skin off their behinds.

I don't think hate is the word for it - but some of the things people have said are a bit intolerant of diversity. Just MY opinion, so don't hate on it!
I agree with what he is wanting to do(wether he is or is not a princpal or presidential canditate).Go to work in a public school system and watch and listen to the rudness kids are dishing out to the staff and faculty including the maintence man(thats me
) and nothing can be done as far as discipline because the panty waist judges and politicians have changed the laws to protect the "bad guys" rather than the ones doing the disciplining,Then blame it on the fact that I come from a poor neighborhood and I am a victim of a father who ran off,or tell the Goverenment flat out Mom dont know who the Dad is so they can live off the working man while Mom and Dad still live together or a Mother in jail for drugs.
It was said somewhere,in this BOOK of discussion,THE BEST GENERATION EVER RAISED HAS RAISED THE WORST GENERATION(or something to that affect)so we have come to the root of the problem. I have 2 Sons 20 and 19 and if they would have EVER treated an adult physically or verbally the way Some not ALL kids are doing now day they sure would have had some problems when I found out as did I when my Mom amd Dad found out how and what I did and said.
I do NOT care if you MOVE here to live in this Country as long as you do it legally and by the books but do NOT come here for a free ride.
I can care less if you are red, white, blue or yellow the only thing I owe anyone is to:GET OUT AND WORK TO EARN YOUR CITIZENSHIP(INCLUDING LEARNING THE LANGUAGE) AND AN EDUCATION THEN A LIVING.
Once you have done the legal things to get citizenship here you DROP the nationality you had before. You are NOT African American,Asian American or anything other AMERICAN!!!(if you play for the Boston Red Socks and get traded to the Atlanta Brave you are NOT a Red Sockian Bravian, for a lack of a better illustration or wording, you can only play for one team)
one day Americans will stop being push overs and stand up for right and wrong, our borders have big holes for people from foriegn countries to get in and NOT go through the proper procedure to get their citizenship here and get welfare
I was in a class talking to a teacher of a 9th grade English class, who had a student of hispanic descent, the teacher had to get the Spanisah teacher to type up and grade the students work the so she could could do her class work and had a hispanic student translate for her.Is that fair to all the other students? I think not
They make clothes in different sizes for a reason, wear the ones that fit you properly around your waist covering your behind and fitting in the crotch for men and clothes that are NOT showing the china in the china cabinet(if you understand me.In fact I think the Bible our forefathers(who probably spoke ENGLISH) started this country, the English speaking US of A,on has guide lines on how to dress(1st tim 2:9 kjv)
I do NOT hate anyone I do not see where someone got the idea that anyone hates anyone while we are discussing how were are going to get America back on the track she needs to be on
