IA (incubators anonymous) September Hatches?

That is awesome! Congrats! If you have any Nutridrench you could give a drop to the weaker one. I give them one waterer with Nutridrench mixed in and one plain for the first day.
Yup! So far 10 have hatched, although one looks frail so we will have to see about that one. We have moved 6 to the brooder and 4 are still in the incubator. Once they are dry we will move them out and do some quick cleanup of all the empty shells and egg cartons.
So cute! Congrats!!

Been very sick and very busy.. the two chicks due last weekend BOTH DIS AGAIN! Fully formed, absorbed and malpositioned... again... with 3 other staggered hatches I was about to just throw the whole damn incubator in the trash and just give up and decide my birds were the issue all the sudden. I had a week left on 3 eggs (rest were non-fertile... that rooster is a slacker in his new digs)...My husband asked me to humor him and start incubating my eggs upright in cartons. So, I did... I moved everyone into cartons, readjusted my thermometer measuring heights and my fan, and began turning my tilting my entire bater on a yoga block 7 times a day...

Yesterday was day 18 for the 3. One pipped internally and ruptured something and died. I knew this because my white egg suddenly became blackened across the air cell. And then... A CHICK!!! Last night I checked the eggs (also when I saw the bruising) and they were still sitting there. No movement. Nothing. Figured this was another upset. Checked them again 30 min later and a HUGE external pip. No sound. No nothing. Just a huge pip.

This morning at 730 it was at the 12 hour mark and given my recent luck I went ahead and peeled a tiny speck of shell off. And the membrane was still fully intact. I used medical tweezers and made the hole a tiny bit bigger and I heard her chirp for the first time!!

Within literally 15 minutes she started to zip (I have videos for YouTube I’ll add later) and I gave her a half hour and she only made it a bit around and was obviously struggling and clearly missing her mark. So I went in and carefully removed the top and she was beyond ready. You’d have thought she was on day 21. I put her back and she sat there for a few, kicked off her pants and is now (several hours later) siting happy in the brooder while the other egg is shaking up a storm in the Hatcher. Hopefully kiddo hatches!!

She is a Gold duckwing bantam/leghorn cross ❤️
@Jules929 they look so happy!!! Pretty chicks! Guess who has some friends?!?!

I'm not sure? Maybe! There is an electrolyte recipe someone shares, let me see if I can find it!
We don’t. Would Gatorade do instead?
:gigOr it could take longer because they have to knock on the door to be nosey...
@KikiLeigh02
Awesome! Just came in to rehydrate and cool off. Neighbors helped me get one fence panel up. Have made no progress on the pen, though. Once the fence is up, people won't be able to see me, so maybe fewer distractions, lol.

Just collected my 42nd egg for my 42 egg incubator. Going to start the Incubator right at midnight Oct 1, that way its easier to keep track of what day I am on. I will probably look at other eggs laid today from the Marans and make sure I am hatching the darkest available. And maybe a Serama will lay today, although they cut back since the Equinox, I would rather have one more Serama and one less Maran Black Sex Link (BCM over Cuckoo Marans) I may even get one more BCM over black Ameracuna for my Olive egger project. Other eggs being hatched Red Pyle Old English Game Bantams, and Ayam Cemanis I received in the mail for Shady Grove farms in West Virginia who sells off of Ebay. I had real good success with their eggs last hatch.
