Same Mary, a year older. The donkeys were in the pasture with the chickens. That may have been why the dogs stayed in the other pasture. Thankfully the gate between pastures was closed or I can only imagine the carnage. DH says he doesn't think the dogs would have hurt the chickens because they looked "scared."
Unfortunately, DH does not understand the threat posed by marauding dogs and he sides with the dogs and the dog owners, so I am sort of left on my own on this issue. I have asked him many times to browse the Predator forum here on BYC but he has declined. I said I was going to buy a paint ball gun tomorrow and he disagrees with that too. I think at least the neighbors would be on notice if their dog comes home with a blue rear end.
