NICE BUCK!!!!!!!!

If he has 4 points on each side, then he is what we call a 2 X 4, or a 4-point.
Only 1 side is counted.
He is a grand old man, that is sure, rack is tall, so he has been in dense, thick trees & cover.
A Deer in browse or meadows will have a wide rack, a deer in trees has a narrow, tall rack.
Nice buck, Mary.

Around the 8th of January I think.

Great names, but Mary wants GIRLS. Ginger, Marianne and Mrs. Howell? Gilligan would be perfect for one of her boys - they are so goofy!

Kelly, how was the soup?

Also, according to the Brinsea software my emu eggs aren't due on the 8th. I'll have to plug in the PC to get to the software for that answer.

My Icelandic hatch was an epic failure! The one that pipped yesterday had a huge yolk sac and died this afternoon. Three more have hatched but are sticky. Two more died in the shell and four are pipped. Set 48 eggs, may end up with 7 chicks. Of course I can't ship them as there will not be enough for warmth. I'll put them on Craigslist and offer to try one more time for the customer. This time I'll know that the Brinseas can't be trusted. Of course, one is already home to my emu eggs until they need to be moved to the hatcher in January. Hopefully I can set 24 eggs eggs in the Brinsea and have at least the 15 the customer ordered hatch. I doubt it though.

BTW Kelly I forgot to return your incubator when you were here! DUH!

I don't know why you are casting aspersions on Stuart and Louis. They would have never started gyrating had you not whistled!

Good morning Mary

Those numbers are very much like I had last spring, hatched 7. One died. I did have a temperature spike, but I think the biggest problem was inaccurate thermometers, this year will have a couple of the Brinsea digitals.

But I am hoping most of the hatching will be with broodys. I want to wind up with about 18 hens. Maybe in 2 groups to spread the roosters out.

I hope these 7 all make it for you Mary !

Soup was really good - it needed more carrots and less ham. (I wasn't sure how much ham to leave on the bone)

No worries on the bator - sounds like you're going to need it if you're hatching more. Incubate them in mine, since yours isn't working right. Sorry your hatch isn't going well.
