Ok. We keep the house at 70-72 generally. I guess we will have to go look for a bigger container tomorrow! This one is prob 18in deep and 3 feet long by 2 ft wide.Very easy.
Totally agree. But I'm excited to learn all I can !It seems to me that you should have maybe done some more research before deciding to get chickens.
Anyway, here is an article that might help you: https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/raising-chicks-step-by-step.73382/
They need the heat lamp until fully feathered. They are eating the medicated chick food. How long do they need to have the heat lamp?

I think if I can raise children I can handle chickens. We all had to learn at some point. I will take all the advice I can right now.Yep, chickens are a major responsibility and not a “pet of the week”. They function better on a schedule and are time consuming, but rewarding, animals.

Awesome thanks for the advice. One thing that helps is when more stores follow the example of our local TSC and put up signs to state that chicks are not Easter presents. And they don't allow anyone under 18 to buy chicks. Lastly, they screen your address to make sure chickens are even legal where you live.
