The question is simple: if you could only keep one breed, whether or not you have it now, which one would you choose? I realize that this is a hard question, as a lot of people keep different breeds for different reasons. But the fun questions are rarely the easy ones.

EE's would be nice because they'd have that chance at a brown egg. However my buff brahmas and barred rocks are the sweetest and most reliable layers in my bunch. I've got a big soft spot for them. Brahmas are fun and huge so I may go with them, even though their eggs are most often medium.

Duel purpose, hardy birds with many colors to choose from. These were the first kind I owned and I really liked them but I don't have any right now. In a few years when I get another batch of fresh chicks I plan on getting some more.
