found out a friend died of covid-19 this morning.
A group from work went to a closed bar for a party. A couple of guys got it. .. my friend, their boss, got it 2 weeks after the party so they think they got it at the party and he got it from them. I guess he had been on ventilator for a week or so.
He was a couple years older than me, only health issue was high BP that was under control

Really very sorry for your loss. It brings the reality home in a bad way. Wish I could hug all my family & friends who live away, for now I'll just tell them I love them.

I like to think I caught all the mice. Traps haven't been touched in over a week and no new droppings. The most concerning is when bike warmed up it smelled like bacon .
Now I have to pull the whole exhaust down to properly clean. Like u needed another thing on the chore list

Another sleepless night... a lot of them lately.

In good news, we got 8 eggs between yesterday and today (Tuesday).

Apparently eggs were not collected yesterday... Oops! I grabbed them around 4 or 5 pm today. The poor chickens were out of feed. Good news is they likely had feed yesterday even though we forgot to go out there. Since the turkeys went to freeze camp last month the feed lasts into the next day. They had to scrounge around the run and through the cop bedding for scraps this morning, but were fed this evening. I'm hoping that sort bit of time with an empty feeder doesn't impact egg production. It's nice to have a full egg tray (holds 27 eggs) in the fridge. January is coming and is always the roughest part of winter. If we are lucky, we'll have an egg supply in the fridge and a fresh laid egg here and there to make it through without buying eggs at the store. I only had to buy one dozen this year.

They say going without water for more than 2 hours can impact egg production. I think it would need to be more than 12 hrs for feed, especially with feed lost in the bedding.

I no longer have Bielefelders. (They are a great breed, though) I know there's a Biele breeder in West Chicago, IL. He sells on eBay and Craigslist, so you could search there. (on ebay, he's Skywalker something) Don't know if he sells adults, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Hey thanks for the info. I know the person you are talking about. I actually bought 2 of them from him around June. I do not think he sells adults from the last time I talked to him.
