i'm afraid my eggs won't hatch, help me calm down a bit :D

also, i didn't even have to put mirrors in the brooder, because i noticed the walls actually reflect the little buddy's image . I have a question, what can i do to lower the temperature in the brooder? my thermometer is reading 38.2 °C, but it should be closer to 35 the chick seems to be doing just fine and hasn't visited the colder area of the brooder yet, he's just there eating drinking and running around. i opened the window so the temperature goes a bit down, my heat lamp is around 50 cm from the ground, and still seems to be heating it up to 38.2 °C it's a 150W heat lamp btw

As long as they can get to a cooler area they should be able to find their sweet spot,
(works for chicken chicks not sure about quail?),
but maybe a lower wattage bulb....or a dimmer cord.

still 1 only unfortunately no signs of movement on the others, i'll wait till day 21 then do a float test, and if they don't pass it then i'll have to crack them open

Don’t float the eggs. Inspect them really closely, I think the spots on quail egg shells make pips harder to see. Shine your light across the eggs from every angle possible.
If the time comes that you don’t think any more are going to hatch, candle them carefully. I think you’ll be able to tell without putting them in water.

I agree about the brooder too. Let them tell you. If they aren’t gravitating to the cooler area, then they aren’t too warm.

woohoo great news everybody, another chick started unzipping! i noticed when i went to add more water, i spoke close to the egg and he started rushing that unzip like a race car ahahaha, he's close to being completely out, let's hope for the best

Hmm, since my last message, he hasn't been making progress I can see him breathe and hear him chirp, and also I see him trying to continue the zip with his beak, but the hole has been the same width for an hour now what should I do, do I help him or let him be? I really wanna have a companion for my first hatched quail

I would give it at least a few hours to unzip.......but not sure abut quail.

yeah, seems like he is continuing to unzip now, maybe he was just resting before continuing i'll check on him tomorrow morning, hopefully he makes it
