Update: A couple weeks ago I noticed something weird going on with my nail right at the cuticle. I didn't think much of it until it started getting bigger over the next few days. It was like my nail wasn't growing correctly.

Well, DUH... it took me another few days of thinking about it to put together it was the same nail I slammed in the door.

So, here I wait for this dumb thing to grow out. I hope it all goes back to normal growth after the damaged area is done and that I didn't break the nail factory in that finger.

I got one for you as well as a cautionary tale: I was putting in a new 3 panel overhead door on my machine shed, pushed it up and reached in to the joint between the upper and second panels to pull it down. Not only was the pain excruciating but 3 fingers were wedged between the panels, DW had to come out and raise the door because I couldn't reach down to do it--lost all three nails.
