I'm an idiot. Bruised finger as proof!

OUCH!

years ago I slammed my left index finger in our front (Steel paneled) door. I shattered the bone at the tip and the entire nail was pulled out from well below the cuticle, looked like a fake nail! ewww!

the ER dr actually tried to reattached it with a stitch b/c he said that since it was broke below the cuticle it would most likely NOT grow back b/c the cuticle would fuse. his brilliant stitch job lasted about a day so I was really worried I'd never have a nail there! Took what seemed like forever (prob only a couple months) to grow out but it did grow back. the first full nail was kind of bumpy and full of ridges, after that it smoothed out and you'd never know I ever had a problem.

So, nifty, yours will probably just take a little while but should grow back normally. How long it will take will depend on how fast your nails grow. I want to say it's Vitamin E that helps improve nail growth, not positive but I'm sure with a quick google you could find out.

Can't be any worse than when I was building the 2x4 frame of the coop and the "cross beam" managed to not only bean me in the head (and forehead so EVERYONE sees the lump) but also whacked the crap out of my wrist... scrapey/bleed AND bruise/sore.

NOT one of my better moments... one of those times my paranoid self is glad we don't have video surveillance.

Ahhh but how many times have you walked into an OPEN door?

That right there is a great way to jam the snot out of your shoulder lemme tell ya.

OR all the times I've taken the corner of the vent-a-hood to the head...

OR the corner of the cabinet over the bar to the head...

OR left a cabinet open after putting up groceries and taken the corner to the head.

It's a real wonder how my head is still as round as it is.

The worst is when you hit the eyebrow bone... OMG PAIN... screaming, curse your mama for breeding such a fool, PAIN.

Welcome to the idiot-man club. I had to explain to my young kids (this was years ago) that certain words are ok to say under certain conditions. The kids took my advice as gospel for this---and who am I to take back parental advice.
