WOW!!!!!!AMAZING JOB! How many chickens will you be keeping in it?
You have more self control than me. I just like looking at and watching chickens, plus they are wonderful pest controls.I also have a creek, about 15' from my run. Everyone around here calls it the wildlife highway. So yes it does attract a lot of animals, but on the other hand, most of them are just passing through and don't hang around. I've seen (or been told about) everything from otters floating down the river, great blue herons, a family of raccoons, a young bobcat, a resident she-bear, a pair of eagles, owls, hawks, deer, coyotes, beaver...
To the original topic, my coop (link at left, in profile) is 10x6 inside a run that is approximately 20x25. My plan is to have up to 12 chickens (currently at 7). Chicken math isn't a problem for me since I don't sell eggs or eat enough of them to need a ton of birds, and raising and integrating chicks is enough work that I wouldn't get them impulsively.
My husband insisted on adding on to it this year. He always wanted a lean-to. This year we finally got all the tin siding converted to wood. The roof is next eventually.Dang![]()
How many do you currently keep?Current setup is a 4x8 coop and 9x12 run. Smallest setup I've ever had...but it fits our smaller yard/home/flock I have now
That's gorgeous. I love it.Here is picture of my 33x10 that I'm close to finishing.
