I'm Curious about the Size of your Coops

Okay...I don’t have a coop. I have a sleeping box.
I was retired but about 2 months ago I went back to work, part time ....why? Cause I want a real coop. Now that’s love baby!
Hubby made an addition for me. I truly believe the only reason the coop has lasted this long is because of the tin roof above it.
And you ask about the first picture?? Well...that’s where I’d put unruly roosters so I could do my yard work in peace...seriously!!

That fire pit is hilarious. I could see it would work as a jail. I initially thought you were threatening your troublemakers.

Your birds have a decent sized run, and the coop is cute. Your addition doubled your housing space by the looks of it.

I built a coop almost 30 years ago I’m getting old~er. I wish I had it now. I don’t want a big flock I kinda know my limits. But that artsie~fartsie prefab just isn’t gonna cut it. I looked at all the photos so far and just sigh...some are just beautiful! This was a great idea for a thread. Thanks

How many do you currently keep?

Admittedly it's a little overstocked at the moment....I am fostering 4 hens for my daughter until she gets a coop up at her new house....so there are 11 in it now. They get on well and the run is fully covered so they are only all in the coop at roost even on weathery days. My usual number is 7-8.

I would wager that those of us who are intended to be done several weeks ago.

We are currently doing a carport conversion coop at our new place. It will be 8x15 with an attached 15x40 run. We plan to keep 25-35 chickens in it. I expect a smaller bantam coop will be in our springtime plans as well.
