Good morning, Squatchers

I still have not looked for that thread.

Oh... this is what I got about a week ago - 2 softshell eggs and a big poo in the poop board. Still don't know who did that.

:sick

Ive been away for a couple days and just got caught up! I see we have gotten scolded for our language (prob the tortoise that pushed things over the edge! LOL).

Congrats to those who are getting eggs! I'm still trying to heal up my featherless plucked cochin! Poor girl. I let her out to forage with the others while I'm there to watch, then she has to go back into her blocked off area of the coop.

:lau
Scolding does happen in certain sections. :(
Really puts a damper on our fun. :p

Hey y'all, I'm about to be a grandma! "Nonna" actually, I will be called. My son and DIL are in labor! :wee

Can't wait to see the grandbaby, if they will let you show off! :D
Best wishes to the new parents!

I had a picture of them peeled (they were so hard to peel! I know, because they are fresh) and I accidentally deleted it, as I have a stupid, archaic flip phone. So there is no picture of them boiled and peeled.....

But here is the finished product! :)
yummy!.jpg

Look how beautiful and orange those yolks are! I cooked them for 3 minutes, but I guess that was too long for those little beauties, as they came out semi-hard-boiled. I ate them up with some salt and pepper on a bed of crushed up matzoh, and they were very delicious, nonetheless! I don't know if they tasted like a thousand bucks! But they were yummy. And they tasted like love. :love
Thank you, beautiful chickies! I decided, crazy chicken lady that I am, that as a "thank you" I am going to make them some warm oatmeal for this chilly day. :)

Oops, I got my threads mixed up, lol! The Squatch Watcher thread is awesome!

Congrats on the new (soon-to-be) grandbaby, how EXCITING!!!! Yay! Kiss that good-smelling baby head for me!

I admit I did not take a picture of it yesterday, so went down to get it out of the frig. It didn't seem quite so small when I took out of the carton with others that are also smallish. Here it is -- Butterbutt's first egg - right center.

I don't know why, but my pictures never come out good. The new egg is a pale blue and the one to the left it is almost a gray green.
Butterbutt! I love that name! All y'all hussies sitting around eating eggs while I'm looking at three bald fannies and two absolute duds! Exiteing morning a squirrel got in the coop, they didn't kill him "was definitely a him" but they did nearly pluck him bald. Poor guy is going to be cold for quite a while. :)

Mine don't seem to mind all the squirrels around. Maybe they've all been females.

I don't know what went down in there, all i do know is i opened the coop and my "docile" little faverolles hens were pecking their little butts off in the corner. I'm like "what y'all eating?" I was so Mary Poppins about those hens....not anymore, vicious little puff butts. Won't fight for food, but will pluck a squirrel. :)

I had trouble w peeling fresh eggs too, what I was told is fill a pot & being to boil. Gently lower eggs into the pan using a slotted spoon. Boil for about 15 min for hard boiled. Then take it to the sink, carefully pour out the hot water and refill w cold water. Then crack the bottom of the eggs. After they're all cracked, start peeling. They should peel easily.
