I remember when the city where Coca Cola was bottle was imprinted on the bottom of the glass bottles.

I remember when the bags used for groceries were brown paper bags that would easily biodegrade and were made from a renewable resource. Fast growing pine trees.

I remember when you would get fruit, and homemade cookies and candies for Halloween.

I remember when McDonald’s had an ashtray book of matches on the tables.

I remember when high school busses stopped after ball games on Friday night at McDonald's.

I remember when doctors would recommend smoking for "hyperactive" children. It was supposed to calm them down.

I remember when the Highway Patrol would come to the school every year and show pictures of accident victims killed in car crashes. I still remember one of two kids that literally lost their clothes in a horrific accident. The day got nickname "Blood and Guts Day". Kids from our school still drove wild and some were killed in wrecks.

They dragged wrecked car into the parking lot and had a whole play about drinking and driving at my school. That brought in police cars and EMS. They even had the funeral home drive in with a hearse to take away the kid that “died” in the crash

I did the same. Mercury dimes and flying eagle quarters as well as buffalo nickels too. All the Wheat pennies and white pennies too. Of course we kept all silver dollars that were real silver and real silver half dollars.

I only have a few of the steel pennies and buffalo nickels...but quite a few of the walking lady liberty coins and flying eagles

I remember when Spam was a poor man's staple meat. I saw a display Thursday of Spam and it was priced like it was made out of good steak.
