The theme song for the "Willard" sequel "Ben" (a sweet ballad about the lonely guy's friendship with Ben the rat leader ) was actually a hit on the radio for awhile, won a Golden Globe and was Oscar-nominated Oscar for "Best Song" in 1972...recorded by a very young Michael Jackson!

I remember that song! I really liked it.

The tag line for the movie Ben was something like, "Where Willard ends, Ben begins!"

My favorite male name is Ben. Not from the movie, nor did I know anyone named Ben when it became my favorite name. The hero in my book is named Ben.

It's a bit ridiculous now but when I watched it as a wee child it creeped me out. Especially the giant wasp.

Oh. H. G. Wells. Pretty good writer, for sure. Good enough to scare half of the country on a Sunday night.

As far as shows, Orson Wells was more to my taste.
