I went through the same thing just a few years ago. Had pink eye and wanted to pay the urgent care bill right then and there. They refused to take my cash, said they had to send a bill. I told them if they refused my cash, I wouldn't pay. I never did and they "forgave" my bill

I need to try this next time I go! Which hopefully is never...

The number has changed? I've had the same driver's license number since I started driving, 24 years ago. Got my license at 18, not 16

I moved so I had to get a new license in the state I moved to.

My high school Spanish teacher had us recite the Pledge of Allegiance every day in Spanish. I still remember it verbatim. I can sing the entire jingle of a Dodge car commercial from 1975. I can recite most (all?) of the dialog from the movies The Empire Strikes Back (1980), Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), and Pride and Prejudice (2005).

I don't even particularly like that version of P&P -- Macfadyen and the others were outstanding but Kiera Knightley ruined nearly every scene she was in -- although as a single middle-aged woman I reserve the right to have entire chapters of Jane Austen novels committed to memory.

Then I walk into the living room and forget what I went in there for.

I remember my home phone number from 50 years ago! Also my grandmother's even though she's been gone now for almost 30 years, and my uncle's who hasn't had that number for 22.

Dang if I remember my kids' numbers, though!

There's a number of stores around here, including my veterinarian, the garden center I frequent, and the homebrew shop I visited a couple weeks ago for instance that all add a charge if you use even a debit card or they (the vet) give a discount for cash sales. Apparently VISA and Master Card are charging for using their services even if it's just your own money in your own bank account you're paying with.

I ask if the business prefers cash, check, or card. Some small businesses are still eating the fee on credit cards. Some pass it along. I write a lot of checks.

My dentist used to give a discount for payment at time of service. When hubby had an outpatient surgery, I asked if paying right then was an option, and the person looked a bit surprised and said, yes, and we'd get 10% off. I'm on that like stink on cecal poop.

If you need any major work done, dental plans could be a good thing. My husband needed a few implants put in and the dental plan saved us well over 50%. We don't have insurance

I'd just advise to read the fine print some of those plans are very high interest.

I remember when the word "hairbrained" was common, but I don't particularly remember what it was used for. I was young enough to not pick up what it probably meant.

Strangely, I use cash more and more often. With all the stories about thieves lifting you credit card details from the machines I really only ever buy gas with cash for example.
